Permit me to make a point clear before I start this Klair’s Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal Soap review is that this soap is definitely environmentally friendly. And if you think about it, most if not all of the beauty products that we order around these days are not environmentally friendly as such.

I mean I feel like we just order them because we want beauty products, we want makeups, we want skincare products, we think they make us feel good, we think they are like self-care and all that but think about it for a moment, these products are all covered in plastic.

Like my face wash, my makeup, all come in plastic packaging which is not good for the environment (I mean the plastic stuff). But this soap is a very environmentally friendly product (because it does not come in plastic) which is one thing I love about the wishtrend brand. They are very good at producing simple yet very effective products.

The Klair’s Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal Soap provides an excellent deep cleansing effect, sebum control, and pore care.

My Experience With The Klair’s Charcoal Soap

I actually wasn’t sure if this would work well on my skin, like is it actually going to clean my skin? It is amazing what happened to my skin after I used this charcoal soap made of charcoal for the past 7 days on my skin. Those pimples that I had at the beginning of the week were completely gone by the end of the week.

Everything else with my skincare routine has remained the same, just in terms of my moisturizer and how I remove my makeup. I’ve been using this charcoal face soap bar for some time now and it is an all-natural soap for troubled skin. It’s a charcoal detox with Shea Butter and Bentonite Clay which are all ingredients also found in the Aztec clay mask and pink Himalayan salt.

I love using this soap because it just works for me so well. Foam cleansers can be too stripping on my skin and really caused me to become oily and break out. This is perfect for me, it cleans my skin deeply and I think maybe the fact that its charcoal, it really

helps my skin to just deep clean without stripping my pores and what I like about this is that its all-natural ingredients and it’s handmade so it’s got no preservatives no parabens no crap in it and it foams up nicely enough to just make you feel really clean but refreshed at the same time.

It’s been pretty interesting for the past week. After using and observing the reaction of the soap on my skin, I can categorically say that this soap is in fact a cleanser in a soap format.

The Klair’s Charcoal soap comes in a paper wrapping and when I first ordered the soap, I expected the soap to be a bit bigger but when I received my package, I found that it is actually bigger than the usual 5,5×5,5cm square soap and it is 3cm tall but I expected more than that.

Though the size was not up to expectation, what thrilled me about the soap is that fact that it lasts so long that you won’t even need it again which is a factor that makes it deserving of its price. ($12.90)

The Brand claims that the Klair’s Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal Soap and all their soaps are made by well-experienced master craftsmen who have produced soap for more than 20 years.

How To Use:

Klair’s soap is being used as a second cleanser after using a cleansing oil. First cleansing step after removing makeup with a cleansing oil, lather up your hands with the Klair’s soap and the other product again to wash your hands to see how well it cleanses even though the first cleansing was with cleansing oil.

After the second cleansing, you can check to see if both have no remaining oils.  Measure the moisturizer after the second cleansing, when you compare with the other homemade soap, you can see that the Klair’s soap has better moisturizing effects than the other facial pore charcoal soap.

About The Ingredients:

The soap contains natural ingredients and no artificial ingredients were used in its elaboration and also, it doesn’t contain any surfactants. According to the brand, the ingredients have a lot of natural oils that cleanse the face while hydrating it and these oils are as follows:-

  • coconut oil,
  • olive oil,
  • sunflower oil,
  • eucalyptus oil

The soap also contains charcoal, which is to clean pores and eliminate dead skin cells, Ghassoul, from Morocco (a natural clay) which is to controls sebum production on the skin and of course, black sugar, which naturally contains a property called glycolic acid, which is to maintain the skin’s health. But really there are a few ingredients which are not from nature but are formed naturally when creating soaps in the nutshell.

The full list of ingredients:

Sodium Hydroxide, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Water, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Glycine Max (Soybean) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Moroccan Lava Clay, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Charcoal Powder, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Black Strap Powder, Volcanic Ash.

From the time I started using this amazing soap, I have noticed immense changes in my skin. I have noticed my face is cleaner and brighter than before. Although the Klair’s soap does not completely get rid of blackheads, it keeps out dirt from the pore and maintains sebaceous filaments out of the pores all day long.

I would definitely recommend the Klair’s soap to those with oily skin because, in the weeks ahead, it will help you no other has. I love the soap even as it does dry my skin a bit after cleaning but I later follow up with a proper routine afterward and it is very affordable as well.

  1. Hi Eric,
This is a very informative and cool post about the soap you like. I didn’t even know charcoal was used for quality soaps! I just got an all natural mineral deoderant and I’ve recently been interested in more natural soaps as well. This is an interesting option to consider.

    Thanks for the info!

    • Wow, i am a deodorant kind of person too but ever since I started using this soap, I have not even thought of my usual deodorant, I am just carried away by the beauty of the soap. I will suggest you give it a try, it’s awesome.
