Pimples Treatment At Home – Three Simple Ways To Deal With Pimples For Good.

Pimples which are also known as ACNE is a bump that shows up on the body as a result of a mixture of estrogen and sebum from the body that got clogged in the pores. Although it appears on both adults and the youths, teenagers are the most common sufferers of it.

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

Pimples in youth occur due to the hormonal changes that come with growing up and if your parents had pimples as teens, it’s more likely that you too will suffer the same faith and in some, though very rare cases, individuals also suffer from pimples from their youth into their adult age.

Today, we are going to look into the world of pimples to get a better understanding of the different types and possibly some pimples treatment at home which happens to be a global issue today in the world at large.

So, according to the National Institute of arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases or NIH, an estimated 80 percent of people between ages 11 and 30 will have pimples. It’s very common most of us will suffer from pimples at some point in our lives.

BUT WHY?

CAUSES OF PIMPLES

It might interest you to know that it’s a condition that affects the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles. Usually on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders.

It can also be caused by taking certain medicines, wearing makeups and hereditary genes in all cases. So, taking care of your skin will prevent outbreaks from becoming worse. Often times, we hear that eating chocolate or greasy foods can cause pimples.

Can that really be the case? Well, let’s take a closer look at the evidence and see if there’s any truth behind the rumor.

In 2016, the British news outlet (The Guardian) ran an experiment by exploring the relationship between greasy foods and pimple or acne.

The reference to research from a few other sources including the British Association of dermatologists who stated that there is little evidence that any foods can cause acne even chocolate and fast food.

But research from the British Medical Journal showed that a diet high in dairy, particularly skim milk, can increase the severity of pimple or acne. So, therefore, just maybe chocolate is okay but apparently, some foods can cause pimples and zits.

Another study by the US NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MEDICINE conducted in 2014, wanted to assess the effect of chocolate on acne on males between the ages of 18 and 35.

So, men were given capsules filled either with pure cocoa or gelatin. Each participant consumed 61-ounce capsules. So, the pure cocoa and gelatin in one sitting were mixed so that the participants consumed different levels of cocoa. Am sorry but if you like chocolate you won’t like the results.

The level of people’s pimples skyrocketed the days after chocolate consumption and the study showed that chocolate increases pimples or acne by 169 percent.

Oh yes, I know what you may be thinking right now but please don’t go trashing out all your candy just yet,

Hold on a little!!!

Another lab expert, based on RATIONAL ADVICE ON ALTERNATIVE AND NATURAL ACNE TREATMENTS, picked up this study apart and claims that there are a couple of issues with the way it was conducted.

He started by saying, 14 participants is a very small study group, and small study groups are always bound to commit errors.

Next, it was added that there was no real CONTROL GROUP COMPARISON between cocoa and the placebo gelatin.

So now, does chocolate truly give you pimples?

We couldn’t find a definitive answer as there seem to be arguments for both sides of a debate. But at least we now know of course that gorging on chocolate is probably not the best dietary idea anyway.

So, what are the other causes of pimples and zits?

Well, we mentioned at the beginning how hormonal changes while growing up is one of the main causes and hormone imbalances are at their most extreme when our body goes through puberty.

WHY DO PIMPLES BREAK OUT IN SPOTS.

Let’s take a look at what happens when pimples breakout and why pimples break out in spots. Teenage girls may begin puberty as early as age 6 to 7, then typically go through it at age 11. While the boys begin as early as age 9 but typically go through it around age 12.

During puberty, according to TEENS HEALTH CALM THE BRAIN, the teenager releases a hormone known as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone or GnRH, this hormone travels to the pituitary gland and signals it to release two additional hormones that affect a girl or boy’s body differently.

The results in growth and development as well as the production of hair under the arms and pubic area. This increased production of hormones signals the body to produce more sebum.

Sebum is a form of oil that is developed in the pores. Excess production of it can also cause the oil to build up on the hair follicles resulting in pimples and zits.

CAN ADULTS GET PIMPLES AND ZITS?

Well, the most common question asked out there is ”what about adults”? Can adults also get pimples and zits?

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

Honestly speaking it’s rarer but yes, some adults do. The most common example is with women who are going through menopause. At this stage in their lives, again the changes in hormone activity at this level can affect the way their skin protects and regenerates itself.

They will also experience the same effect during pregnancy. In a testimonial that was recently released, stress has also been linked to breakouts of acne.

A professor of dermatology at BETH ISRAEL DEACONESS MEDICAL CENTER (Dr. ALEXA KIMBLE) conducted research back in 2003.

This research carried out on university students, proved that stress could actually trigger an acne episode and the greater the stress, the more pronounced the breakout.

When a person is going through stress, the body produces more androgens, androgens is another type of hormone, again it leads to an increase in the oil that develops in the pores and so we get more pimples and zits ultimately.

there are other possible causes that are linked to our diet and what we eat but these are still being debated with arguments on the table.

We still await the results.

TYPES OF PIMPLES

Pimples are one such thing that everyone hates them. Whenever they appear on the skin, even you hate them.

Now, don’t you?

And why wouldn’t you hate these pimples, after all, they are filled with pus and make your face look ugly. And a few of these pimples are quite painful as well as they do not come in a single form.

There are different types of pimples and they appear for a few various reasons and it’s a fact that everyone goes through this condition in their life and some of you might.

1. BLACKHEADS:

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

Blackheads are the types that appear on the nose, the forehead and on the chin. They are formed by the dead skin cells bacteria and the oil of your face.

It is called blackhead because it appears black. Most people think that blackheads form due to poor hygiene. To be honest, blackheads have nothing to do with your hygiene.

2. WHITEHEADS:

Whiteheads are those that form on the cheeks and they also form due to the dead skin cells, bacteria and the oil of your face. Actually, both blackheads and whiteheads are a bit similar to each other.                                      PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

The only reason they appear black or white is the blocked powers. When the pores are closed, it is called Whitehead because it appears as white and if the pores are open, it is called blackhead because it appears black.

3. PAPULES:

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

These types are somewhat pink or red, they are a little bigger than blackheads or whiteheads but smaller than pustules papules.

They are filled with fluids and can be easily treated.

You can as well consult a dermatologist or you can apply some general pimple reducing cream.

4. PUSTULES PAPULES:

These types also appear pink or red but what makes the difference is that they are bigger than blackheads, whiteheads, and even pat fuels.                                                                                                                                  PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

The pustules papules type is large pimples and form when papule swell or become large. I recommend you should consult a dermatologist for the treatment of pustules if that is the case with you. Usually, it takes a little longer to completely get rid of pustules.

5. CYSTS:

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

Cysts are the type that appears bigger on your skin and are painful. They form when the blocked pores are more damaged which result in them getting bigger.

The cysts look like big lumps or swollen lumps, they are soft and they contain pus in them. Of course, all the pimples contain pus inside. They are also red and are said to occur from the deep layer of your skin.

Any attempt to treat them actually take long to finally get rid of them completely. So, I recommend you consult your dermatologist for the medication and follow us.

This is because, there are high chances of shaving scars when the cysts are treated but with the help of your dermatologist, you can very well get rid of the scar.

6. NODULES:

This type is bigger and painful just like cysts and they form when the blocked pores are damaged more. This situation makes them grow bigger and they are formed through the deep layer of your skin.                                PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

These types are hard whereas, cysts are soft. The nodules type appear red as well, and they usually take a little longer in order to totally get treated too.

So, I also suggest you consult your dermatologist and follow his advice.

So, therefore, above are the six different types of pimples we struggle with all through our lives. These pimples are somewhat different from each other. Beginning from blackhead, whiteheads as well as the rest.

The whiteheads and the blackheads are easy to get rid of. You will find plenty of ointments that can help you in curing blackheads and whiteheads. But papules and pustules are a little bigger than the blackheads and whiteheads but are filled with fluids like pus. Yet even these are a bit easier to get rid of with proper medication and if the proper ointment is applied.

But then cysts and nodules are one of the most difficult to treat. When you compare all, they are usually very big and are either soft or hard.

The best option like I advised earlier would be to consult your dermatologist. So, make sure to always take necessary measures when the pimples first pop up, because it will help you get rid of them sooner and easier. If you don’t, they can turn into something even worse.

HOW TO GET RID OF PIMPLES OR ACNE AT HOME FOR GOOD.

In view of all we now know about pimples, I would say that the best to tackle and get rid of pimples while at home for good is from the root.

How do we do that?

From three key factors:

1. FOODS,

2. SUPPLEMENTS,

3. FACE WASH.

FOODS YOU DON’T NEED WHILE DEALING WITH PIMPLE AT HOME

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

There are three types of foods you must get out of your diet if you want pimples to go for good. These foods are known to boost the growth of pimples on your body so you have to get rid of them or possibly replace them with something else which I am going to tell you.

1. SUGAR:

Sugar is known to boost the growth of yeast and candida in your system which are all factors that contribute to pimples or acne. So, instead of using sugar, I recommend you use STEVIA.

Stevia is a natural and low or almost no calories sweetener you can also use.

But if you want something that actually has sugar maybe in your cooking or your baking, then you can go for raw honey

You also have to be careful with your fruit consumption. This does not mean you should not consume fruits. But you need to know that it also contains sugar so you have to mind the kind of fruit you take. Fruit should be less sweet or the type that is not too sweet will do for you.

Maybe consuming berries for the main time will be a good idea. In addition, keeping away from sugar also helps to balance your blood sugar level because when your blood sugar level goes up, it causes bad bacteria to grow.

2. GRAIN:

Now, this is a very serious one. There is a need for you to reduce your grain consumption. You can get gluten-free grains is OK because gluten causes inflammation in your intestinal tracts and you don’t want that to happen because when you have inflammation in your guts, it shows up on your skin. When you have pimples or acne or eczema, you may think it’s just a problem of the skin.

NO.

It all begins from the inside. The guts. So, if you can kill all those bad bacteria and keep your guts clean, then all problems with pimples, acne, and eczema as well are gone for good.

Now, instead of using grains, some good options can be coconut flour or almond flour.

3. HYDROGENATED OILS:

It will interest you to nowhere that bad fats increase the amount of oil in your system and that causes the production of a sebaceous gland on your skin.

So, to get rid of bad fat is to stay away from hydrogenated oil and use instead of coconut oil or almond oil. These are good options.

FOODS YOU NEED FOR A PIMPLE FREE SKIN

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

1. FIBER:

You need foods that are high in fiber because fiber kills bad bacteria in the guts and increases the growth of good bacteria like probiotics which is very important. This process will help to reduce acne.

So, you need to introduce fiber in your diet and good sources of it can be:-

  • SEEDS (like chia seeds and flax seeds)
  • NUTS (like almond)

You also will want to include vegetables to your diet as vegetable and sprouted nuts and seeds will help get rid of pimples or acne.

2. PROTEIN:

You need to consume more protein. Eating foods like organic chicken and turkey, grass-fed beef, wild caught fish, organic eggs will give you a good boost of protein because they are all good sources for protein and protein also helps to balance the blood sugar level.

3. HEALTHY FATS:

This is the kind of fat you have to consume and the best sort of it is coconut oil. I recommend you put out every other oil in your household and stick to coconut oil.

Some people go with olive oil but I wouldn’t advise a large use of it but I will advise coconut oil in everything you do.

This is because coconut oil has antimicrobial properties which kill bad bacteria in your system and help get rid of pimple or acne. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE.

During breakfast, you may do something like a smoothie and then put in some coconut milk, some tablespoons of flax meal or flax seeds or chia, and some organic protein powder which is a good source of protein.

When you have this for breakfast, you are getting your healthy fats, fiber, and protein and that’s going to help fight pimples or acne naturally and for good.

SUPPLEMENTS THAT HELP FIGHT PIMPLE

PIMPLES-TREATMENT-AT-HOME–Three-Simple-Ways-To-Deal-With-Pimples-For-Good.

Supplement consumption is also a good way of taking care of your acne or pimple but we are going to look at the right one to take and not just to jump out there and start consuming something else.

1. PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENT:

Taking a good quality probiotic supplement is a good step because it kills bad bacteria in the gut and also boosts the immune system as well.

About 80% of your immune system is located in the gut and any intestinal problem can cause a part of pimples or acne.

So, the consumption of probiotic-rich foods like:

  • CULTURED VEGETABLES,
  • KEFIR,
  • YOGURT,
  • AMASI.

And different other probiotic-rich foods will help very beyond your imagination.

2. ZINC:

This supplement repairs the gut lining and also boosts your immune system. So, consuming about 50 milligrams of zinc daily is very effective in getting rid of pimples or acne.

3. ANTIOXIDANTS:

This is a nutrient and vitamin-rich supplement and amongst all the most effective is ELDERBERRY. You can go for either elderberry syrup or elderberry extract.

During breakfast, you can add one tablespoon of it in your smoothie every morning, it also helps fight candida.

Take these steps very seriously and see how effective they are going to fight your pimple problems for good at home, without seeing any dermatologist.

THE RIGHT FACE WASH THAT WILL HELP FIGHT YOUR PIMPLE.

The face wash is also another good way of taking care of your pimples or acne but I will recommend you use a TEA TREE OIL FACE WASH because it is unnatural.

  1. Wow, this is a very informative, thorough article on acne. As an adult who still gets pimples, I found a lot of useful content here. I’m prone to eating sweets, so I’ll probably stay away from those or cutback since sugar can cause pimples. I’ll consider some of these supplements too. Thanks for the info! Have a good one.

    • Hello Daniel.
Yes, cutting down on your sugar intake or completely staying away from it for some time if possible is about the best. Because whatever we eat, will definitely show up on our skin. That is why skin care all begins from our diet. So, take care of your intake if you long for improved skin.
once again, thank you for your time.

  2. Hi Eric, thanks for creating and sharing a valuable post for those who suffer with pesky pimples. I’ve had them on and off for many years, and now can see the same issues with my own children. I love to manage things as naturally as possible, so I’m happy to see that there are ways to manage pimples using natural resources including the diet. I didn’t realise that zinc can also help with pimples, I’ll be sure to get some into my children’s diet. Thanks for putting together this valuable resource.

    • Hi Kat,
thank you for taking the time. In fact, managing our health or skin issues naturally is about the best. I am not saying going pharmaceutical isn’t necessary but it all begins with our food consumption. If we can start minding what we eat, our skin concern will improve as expected.
      Thank you once again.

  3. Hi Eric!

Great post and very informative. I never really thought too hard about the types of fat that I’m consuming. Also, my mother uses tea tree oil for everything and swears by it. That stuff is magical!

    Keep up the great content!

    • Hi Bernard, thank you for stopping by. Yes, it’s actually magical like you said.
      Thank you for the comment.

  4. The pimples are always a scary thing. Its sensational actually. Do you have any tips for completely removing blackhead related issuess

    • Hi Bibin,
thank you for taking the time to go through my post. Actually, i am working on a post about blackhead. If you can subscribe to my website so you get notified once the post is published.
      Once again, thank you.

  5. Very interesting. There were types of pimples I had never even heard about, for example, the nodules. I was very lucky as a teenager, I was spared of any pimples 😉 and also as an adult I didn’t get any, perhaps a few here and there, but not that much. I must say, I’m a chocoholic, so when you mentioned chocolate, I thought “oh no …” although I do not consume it in great quantities either. Is it perhaps the sugar in the chocolate that causes pimples? I use cane sugar, but I was wondering about using agave nectar as a replacement (I don’t like stevia very much).
Thanks for the info. Very useful!

    • Hello Christine, thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my content. Well, like you read in the content, chocolate is an enemy to pimple so, it is either you cut down on your chocolate intake or keep away from it for some time if possible while you work on getting rid of the pimple. And then you can start taking it back again but on a low profile to avoid pimple boost.
      I hope this help.
      Thank you.
